This reminds me a lot of blender collections. 1. blender collections is a view on the data-oriented scene 2. does not replace the original scene 3. groups meshes and such...
I want this. No idea how to do it. I assume it'll be like sharing buffers in metal or vulkan.
> extend texture class and put IREE GPU computation inside @Ivorforce thoughts on this?
My first impression is we need a ring buffer that syncs the two rates of the iree.gd and the frame sync on the gpu access. But I don't know.
https://github.com/godotengine/godot/pull/98788 @Ivorforce We've plumbing the mesh support in godot engine 4.4 Thoughts?
@Ivorforce From my point of view the multimesh buffer is a packed byte array, we can reuse the same strategy to share a different packed byte array. Batching is encapsulated...
As far as I know you can import arbitrary ArrayMesh from obj file format into the 2d mesh instance. For animation and interactive ui, we’ve been working on getting lottie...
Would you be ok if there's importer for gltf into a scene that is a series of node2d and meshinstance2d? It might be doable.
I don't remember MeshInstance2D supporting shapekeys and 2d uses a different skinning system... @clayjohn Any thoughts?
Closing due to lack of attention to windows platform.
