@rarkins thanks for looking, things are looking better today! one job had a failure due to rate limiting from docker.io, but the rest succeeded.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find the source online anymore. It's referenced in FreeBSD-ports but the original site ftp://ftp.shub-internet.org/pub/shub/brad/dns/ no longer accepts anonymous ftp logins.
