For the detached HEAD problem with FETCH_HEAD: I suppose the solution would be to have an option to say "rebase onto"

I suppose we would need another selection box to select the local branch for "onto"

I'm not sure if "pick"-mode is the right term. Can you please look into CLI rebase and find out how say solved this issue (or are we investigating an issue...

Right now I prefer the providing a messagebox for creating a branch approach.

Haven't tested all cases described here.
