Please provide a receipt to reproduce your situation. This plugin has a lot of options. So please share the syntax you used, and eventually changed configuration settings.

Maybe the no js variant is reasonable to export there. But the js variants is too much work for me to consider.

There are also a lot of changes, e.g. by using php7.4 functionalities, that break compatibility with old DokuWiki releases. Is it worth to add these kind of things back? Better...

Thanks for reporting. It is a bit difficult edge case. Needs probably a bit of puzzling to solve this.
