This is probably related to [seeing_is_believing](https://github.com/JoshCheek/seeing_is_believing) gem itself.
Maybe you have something like adblock enabled? Try to turn it off on your site.
Adding `# encoding: utf-8` solves the problem. Btw, ruby installed via rvm.
Starting atom from terminal also solves the problem. Seems like problem in environment variables.
