Yeah the op wants to instead of render in realtime and stream, to render at full cpu speed and write to disk. would be an interesting feature, but not sure...
the cards have no display, but more importantly, no battery. so the 1a being emulated will be a better working mkII for just playing back midis than the currently emulated...

also, the sc55mkII pcm chip still needs to be decapped, to give nuked correct filter for sc55mkII.

there is indeed a dos sb 2.0 driver that will play midis with that bank, as i recall. but there's gotta be some easier way, i'd think.
okay i found the banks. http://annex.retroarchive.org/cdrom/nightowl-006/042A/MID2CMF.ZIP melody.ibk and drum.ibk in there are the actual banks. hopefully you can figured out how to turn them into a workign wopl.
