A proper solution to this would be to take the registered renderer as an argument, similar to [how Quark does.](https://github.com/VazkiiMods/Quark/blob/14f5d2d20c5eba0220d2d56fc2a08e3ca28a695d/src/main/java/vazkii/quark/content/client/module/VariantAnimalTexturesModule.java#L122-L123) You can then [use it in the renderer.](https://github.com/VazkiiMods/Quark/blob/4045979ea08736bf18e5bb25c9aeb6282fa9db77/src/main/java/vazkii/quark/content/client/render/variant/VariantBeeRenderer.java#L38-L52)
Actually, this doesn't quite work. Instead, I'm going to be migrating Quark's render handler to a mixin - and I would recommend the same on your end.
This should now work without you needing to change anything, but I recommend migrating [CustomBeeRenderer](https://github.com/ricksouth/serilum-mc-mods/blob/2f052222d172bfe0e6432cdb58179bc27664f843/sources/Realistic%20Bees/src/main/java/com/natamus/realisticbees/renderer/CustomBeeRenderer.java) into a mixin, akin to [this one.](https://gist.github.com/yrsegal/a708b95d666b30600a8fcd45187408f0)

As long as it "tempts" the animal, it should work for the trough. Genetic Animals might not properly create a tempt task. their code isn't open, so I can't say...
