i have the same issue with the latest svelte, bytemd 1.17.2 and vite as bundler :(

this is a ticking time bomb going for years. Some day it will go off and break production for sure ! please fix this !!

i have the same issue on a svelte project because of some deep dependency. Would be good to have this warning gone

is there some alternative of .dev.vars which can be used in production ? i need different env variables for different branches pushed with my code
