I have had issues with the USB port not apparently providing enough power causing it to not work. Using a powered hub seems to address the issue quite well.

On current Octoprint (1.8.6) it doesn't look like this has ever been implemented in main unless I'm missing it somehow. +1 would like to see this feature!

It's not the end of the world obviously, but having the units of measurement common across all the various tools definitely makes for a smoother workflow.
