I run into the same issue while deploying prometheus. It would be great if efs path's limit can be extended to 253 characters(max length of most k8s object name)

Thank you [bocekm](https://github.com/bocekm) for the workaround. It looks good. I didn't apply it because I had applied a heavy workaround: uninstall the openjdk package and install it again.
