PlayIt still works on current KODIs. I wrote a [Firefox addon](https://github.com/willhelm-mueller/playitonkodi) to send Links via ajax to the PlayIt listener.

hmmm playit is installed on your kodi device. It reacts on Json formated post requests. It does not care 'who' sends this requests.

A web search let me to: https://github.com/yuzu-emu/yuzu/pull/7410 Here they state that wayland expects that something needs to be rendered in the newly initialized window. Maybe the link helps
