I've encountered the same problem today, and I found [this solution](https://github.com/Hammerspoon/hammerspoon/issues/3537#issuecomment-1743870568). It works for me. After granting location permission to Hammerspoon, `hs.wifi.currentNetwork()` no longer returns nil.
