Sorry for the delay. AFAIK there is no way in the USB4/TBT layer to detect whether the device is dock or something else.
Since we can have standard type-C docks (no Thunderbolt just USB + Display Port) as well I think this should be outside of boltd. Unfortunately I don't know much about...
