Had same issue on Linux Mint 21.3 with Cinnamon 6.0.4 + legacy icons appearing when installing mac icons ver (did not occur with legacy GTK theme from the catpuccin reps)....
I would also appreciate Catppuccin-canon color variants (Lavender specifically). Big thanks for making this! Hope things get better for you.
