Got the same problem after updating npm and node.js. in my case, its something going on in laucnPackager: compinit: initialization aborted complete:13: command not found: compdef IMHO: react native environment...

I fixed it by updating access permissions to "site-functions" directory as described here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13762280/zsh-compinit-insecure-directories
