I can't reproduce this. Normal paste (Ctrl+V) appears to be stripping formatting already, and Ctrl+Shift+V seems to do the same. I'm using the AppImage from [v1.0.0](https://github.com/athensresearch/athens/releases/tag/v1.0.0).
