should be fixed by 510b824e7545a7c98e050522a7bc93d884c53432, we use the deprecated api directly now :D

thank you for double-checking! just as a heads-up: there should be no difference in how you build if you execute the commands the way you stated ^^

The reliance on nixpkgs has been removed, so these changes seem obsolete to me
