I think this workaround should be added to docs/readme, if no other option is feasible. Like use of `[[ link ]]`

I've experienced similar issue, when I installed vim-orgmode on vim without python3 support. In this case ftplugin silently doesn't start. You can verify wether vim-orgmode is loaded by running `:scriptnames`...
