hey, thanks for reporting the crash! short answer, this is because of non-forward (changed from backward...) compatible changes in ROOT 6.12 for I/O Those have not been yet implemented here....

@BenGalewsky, the problematic part is this ``` >>> org.dianahep.root4j.proxy.ROOT.TIOFeatures.readMembers() ``` I persoanlly do not know the logic on the ROOT side (w.r.t `TIOFeatures`). This guy was introduced starting sometime around...
