I would second this request. The OS proxy setting is really a poor way to do this, and doesn't seem to work anymore.

My cronjob screwed up my install of the UniFi Controller cause of this. Would be good to comment this to the main branch.

Not sure if you know- but no one is maintaining this version of Responder anymore. Go search for the current version.
