Accessing the ALSA device without DMIX is possible via the `hw:vc4hdmi0` device:card combination. But it only supports the `IEC958_SUBFRAME_LE` format which makes it unsuitable for general direct usage... :(

@HiassofT Is it supposed to be possible to use `hw:vc4hdmi0` with software directly using the new `vc4-hdmi.conf`? I mean: does it somehow provide support for more formats? Or.. what `device:card`...

@Falcury : I believe the tv2x filter in scummvm does precissely that (scale to double res, then apply an scanlines blend), and it looks great even in my 1380x768 monitor....

@bumfacekilla Have you tried 1080p mode? Its with that mode that those are more noticeable. 720p and 480p seem to be more smooth (not totally smooth either). These tearing defects...

The issue exists for many of us then. I doubt we will see an updated fw soon, anyway...

Possible the same issue as this: https://github.com/SmokeMonsterPacks/Mega-Sg-Jailbreak/issues/64 ..But no one seems to care about it. I gave the core author visual evidence a year ago.
