I am able to input Tamil into other applications. Please look at the screenshot. "தமிழ் மொழி - Tamil language" typed into gedit editor

you check what is selected in Input Methods dialog under ubuntu.

I really need this feature. I am new to kotlin and java but I can learn quickly. If anyone can mentor me on this, I'd like to contribute.
