[Feature Request] Prefer region over language, if one language matches
Describe the feature I was trying to achieve a multi-language 1g1r set with the following features:
- All ROM's shall prefer NTSC over PAL regions, if at least one language matches from the language priority list.
- It is enough, when the ROM supports one language out of the language priority list.
- Higher priority languages are preferred.
To reproduce
- Re-order default english region settings to match NTSC regions over PAL. (NTSC: USA, Canada, Japan, ... / PAL: Europe, UK, ...)
- Add 2 languages of your choice starting with 'English', 'German'
To my understanding from the documentation and the selection made in some of my 1g1r dats, retool still selects sometimes a PAL ROM instead of a NTSC one, when it can satisfy both 'English' and 'German', making it impossible to create an NTSC priority set, with some PAL additions, where the game was only released in Europe.
Expected behavior Similar to the setting 'Prefer regions over languages', create a new setting like 'Prefer region over language, if one language matches'.
This would allow to create a clean 1g1r NTSC set for 'English', with some 'German' additions of games not released in North America.
Retool edition
- [x] retool-gui.exe
- [ ] retool.py
- [ ] retool-gui.py
Retool version 2.01.5
I can't promise I'll support this use case, but if you can provide me with some solid examples, I can look into it after I've addressed other priorities.
So basically: list titles that Retool selected with your settings, versus the titles you actually wanted from an existing DAT.
