Making it into a warning would be an enhancement in my opinion, but I don't think it's a bug.

My point is very simple: people who are happy with the current behavior will be just as happy with the new behavior because they probably rely on the happy parth...

Yeah, I didn't study it in depth, I just did the minimal necessary chance to make CI support latest GHCs, if necessary, but even that is not guaranteed to work....
