Toggle & select date implementation

Can you consider merging this please? I need to be able to select a date in order to implement a "Go To Today" button.

How can we manually trigger expand or collapse calendarView

This was my attempt to close the monthly view when a date is selected, but for some weird reason it only works every other time. Still trying to figure out...
