Have you updated your instance recently? We did some work in 0.11.1 which saves a LOT of disk space (~10GB in my case). https://github.com/superseriousbusiness/gotosocial/pull/2143
Yep, this is a known thing! I'm not sure if we federate out the focal points either right now, but (if so) that should be a separate issue.
Alright! We will get round to this eventually but I hope you'll understand that it's pretty low priority for now :P
