@OR13 do you know if this is still an issue, this library now uses ts-jest 28.0.1 and there have been multiple downstream updates to `@mattrglobal/bbs-signatures`

Issue is now addressed in [v1.1.2](https://github.com/mattrglobal/jsonld-signatures-bbs/releases/tag/v1.1.2)

The residual work here is to add test vectors for the proof protocol.

I'm in favour of keeping this as octet string based input.

Checks were done prior to draft-2 publication, no issue found, closing as a result.
