Wow - it's been 4 months and there is no response to this report! We are seeing the same warning messages (likely a result of upgrading to 0.12.8). Any insight?

prevent_destroy does not prevent destruction when removing a resource from the configuration

@apparentlymart - in my opinion, @samjgalbraith's comment is not only interesting, it describes the **only** correct way to do it. Currently I'm not using Terraform to manage my data stores...
