I just tried to reproduce the issue but could not. Maybe a silly question, but did you select the option "package" for gpkgs? 
Could it be because of the `project path` (https://github.com/MerginMaps/qgis-plugin/issues/427) value? (@ValentinBuira)

Hi @rphenriques, apologies for the delayed response to your issue (and PR). We reviewed the code today and found that the issue stems from handling deprecated server versions (`< 2023.2.0`)....
