Are you using the desktop application or is this in the browser? Does it happen in all documents? What if you create a new doc from the top menu, then try those commands again?

Are you using the AppImage? What Linux distro are you on? I can't reproduce it on my Arch install.

ddybing avatar Dec 05 '25 23:12 ddybing

@ddybing yes im using AppImage, Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS. In addition, it showed a lot of lag when opening "in-view" mode and typing stuff, but i will open a separate issue about this in the future

@ddybing unfortunately I am also having the same problem (typing the "/" character does not make the commands appear) with version 0.25.5 and version 0.25.7 (AppImage) on Debian 13.

I have tried with the AppImage (both 0.25.5 and 0.25.7) on both Ubuntu 22.04 and Debian 13, but I don't encounter these issues. The slash menu works each time I test it.

@Beeditor04 - do you have some sort of system-wide spell checker? I see that you get an underline on the text while you type and just wondering if that could interfere.

And just to confirm, do you have the issues in the browser as well - or only in the AppImage?

I also have to mention that I am not an official member of the AFFiNE team - just a contributor. So don't take this an official answer, I am just trying to advise.

@ddybing In my case, the problem occurs with both the spell checker turned off and on (I am using only the AppImage). It has always worked, but I can't tell you exactly when it stopped working.

@ddybing In my case, the problem occured when i use my AppImage, offline on Linux, the problem is occasional as maybe it affected by performance (like when using the app it got lagged, and the problem occured). I use the app on Window (another laptop) work just fine, even lag
