@nicklockwood I found this bug when using your UIImage blur category. My workaround is to "deep copy" the image before blurring it, I don't know how it can be applied...

Regarding the UIToolbar trick: I think of it as an hack and one should be really careful when modifying the view hierarchy of framework components. Then again it disables blur...

Hey, both issues should be fixed now. I've tested it in the iOS 6 Simulator but not on a device, it falls back to the old animation.
