I've seen a pack of fixes for this spell at BloodyCore repository, you can try them

their patch is a one big hack...

maybe related to non-stacking auras? for example if pet already has one (Strength of Earth Totem aura) - if yes, then there is no bug

no this is wrong way, if problem even exists then it should be somewhere in targeting

i only can recommend to use my "pet" branch for this. But it has some own problems... this can't be fixed with current pet implementation in TrinityCore

crashes, lags and some problem with pets like Shadowfiend, Infernal and maybe some more like that
