Is there any update on this issue? Having the ability to deploy lambda functions larger than 500mb with zappa using EFS or the recently released container environment would be fantastic.

@stitam : I am facing the same issues and including include_R = TRUE and include_Rtools = TRUE does not resolve the issue for me. Unfortunately none of the other approaches...
