Options to change x axis
Can reduce brightness for past dates in trails, since I purposely kept all at same brightness for now for this reason
Probably change current "Metric" and "Scale" to "Y Metric" and "Y Scale" and add "X Metric" and "X Scale" options.
Also, I purposely chose to have all colors at same brightness so scatter plots could have tails with time, where further in the past is darker. So history could still be (optionally?) visible on scatter plots.
This feature should make it much easier to see when different data sources (such as GitHub vs Stack Overflow) are correlated, like in the RedMonk plots: https://redmonk.com/sogrady/files/2020/07/lang-rank-q320-wm.png
And the diagonal line would likely be good to add. I'm not sure if I care about it being square or not. It might feel squished, but the relative scales would make more sense at a glance. But maybe the diagonal is good enough even if not square. Don't know.
And if we ever add a bright theme, I guess the tails into the past would go brighter the further back they go. Maybe could implement as opacity if that doesn't slow rendering. And it might look cool where the tails overlap.
But maybe a first pass on scatterplots doesn't need tails? Could be a different issue? Not sure.
