Look into controlling display rather than leaving out filtered items

Currently, under the new preact version they need reconstructed when unfiltering items back into the list. Might be fine. That's why this is just a "look into".

On Raspberry Pi (and some phones?), reinserting filtered out items seems to have a noticeable delay vs the old version.
