Request body cursor focus and auto scroll

Open themaxsandelin opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

When writing a slightly complex request body (JSON format in this case), I'll be switching between my browser window to check documentation for reference as I'm constructing my request. When switching between my browser and VS Code I notice that I loose the cursor focus while typing in the request body. Meaning when I switch back to VS Code and want to continue typing, I can't because I lost the focus, even though my cursor is still on the spot I was before switching.

Furthermore, while writing a slightly more complex request body, and you reach the point where it's height increases beyond the border of the window height, the scroll position remains the same. Meaning that the cursor and the text you are actively writing, disappears further down beyond the scrolling point. It would be fantastic if the scroll point follows your cursors focus so that you can keep writing without having to manually scroll as you do.

I have not looked into the code yet so I have no proposed solution, might look into this later if nobody else grabs this. 🙂

Regarding the first part of the post by @themaxsandelin, I wanted to mention that the "lost focus" behavior also impacts the Query Parameters screen when you switch to another app. Thanks!
