Good question. As this project is a rather old one I did long ago while I was a student, I can't recall all the details but I see mainly two...
Note however that `create_slab` makes use of `mmap` to allocate pages... but destroying the slab does not result in a call to `unmap`. Hence a nice memory leak :)
