Actually, I've just used an older version of ruby_dep. That works, but I still think that it should be possible to run the latest version without a minimum ruby version...

Hesitantly marking as ready for review. With these UI upgrades it is something that could go into prod. Deploy details need to be worked out before we can merge this...

I think the best way to approach this would be first on the SD side. Currently we do not fetch any user information ourselves, we only use what SD passes...
