I can't reproduce this, either. I'd ask where you are copying *from*, but the screen recording shows the text changing after insertion, so it must be something in the OS.

Markdown allows multiple paragraphs in a list item, by requiring matching indentation. So if this is added there should be a modifier key you can hold to override it.

The preview interprets a note as [Markdown](https://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax). Like HTML, Markdown strips leading whitespace (unless preceded by a blank line, in which case it becomes a code block). So IMHO not...

I don't think so. Without CSS, HTML doesn't really do indentation. But please refer to the "specification" I linked.

Try File > New RTF. Converting rich text to Markdown is a complex problem, and I doubt any solution will make everybody happy.
