Such a Dropdown component is being worked on in https://github.com/element-hq/compound-web/pull/204 and should be reusable here once it lands

It might be worth checking with the SCT if choosing to not support non-optional parts of the spec has any issues, like would we no longer be featured on https://matrix.org/ecosystem/clients/...
I think this was intentional on ask from @ara4n as he hated having to resize his thread panel to be wider but the rest of the panels to be narrower....
Element Desktop doesn't handle this, its down to Electron which I believe delegates to `xdg-open`.
