Setting origin in utm referenced frame

I want to use mapviz to render point cloud data. My localization node provides odometry data in a utm referenced map frame. Is it possible to initialize my origin to an arbitary utm position? There's no (0,0) coordinate in utm, and if there were, (0,0) would be to far way from my real position...
