I did some debugging. Because the logger-thing doesn't work i added some Data::Dumper() to LWP::UserAgent.pm and WWW::YouTube::Download.pm to see what is going on. Ugly but it works... It seems that...

I was finally able to set up Fiddler2 so that works at least for Youtube... Regarding `cpn` your thought that it's a red herring might be true. Basically it's 16...
