One thing that I would suggest is to have the interface be flexible enough to be compatible with [TACO](https://www.csail.mit.edu/research/taco-tensor-algebra-compiler) and the [MLIR implementation](https://arxiv.org/abs/2202.04305). It really seems like a great abstraction...
