I'll try version 1.4.9 in our production later this week.

The error still happens with pyrax 1.4.9: 

It's not being done with threads or multiprocessing. However, separate processes on different servers could be trying to authenticate at roughly the same time. But these are in _completely_ different...

I'll try this weekend, and report back.
