On Fedora and RHEL we don't debundle pip so far, so that issue wouldn't affect us much, but this is the case possibly because we never looked at debundling it....
That would be great. Indeed nose is dead for quite some time, maybe changing everything to pytest would be sufficient.
@Jeff-Meadows pinging here for visibility. Similar to mcepl I'm one of the Python maintainers for Fedora. We will soon face the same issue on Fedora when we update to Python...
