Getting the same issue when I try to build this project.

Updating Gradle version to classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.4.0' fixed the issue

Having the same issue here as well. Credentials were valid.

Same problem in Genymotion. But on the activity with mapFragment it works but when it is on it's own it is never called.

Any documentation would be welcome at this point, even the Readme.MD is a bit too plain now in 2020.

I did as you can see it says Connected to Anvil at the top, it's on the correct chain.
