created another branch new publish.py adds some extra figures to recordID that breaks UX kept previous

I've not tested these changes to the publish.py file yet.

There was a conflict, as the committed code didn't use the updated encryption support. This and other changes still needs to be tested, but I don't have time for that at this very moment.
