It depends on the bios Older bioses may prefer MBR partitions whereas newer uefi bioses may boot uefi payloads better from a GPT drive. There is no Simple choice

I created a vdi using UEFI.   If I UEFI-boot on the IdeaPad300 it resets. If I Legacy boot using grubfm on the IdeaPad300 it hangs after "Booting 'vDiskChainLoad'"...
