I should have looked more closely at that PR to see the revert. The merge from i3/i3#4336 does prevent the border issue but, unfortunately, this graphical glitch issue still persists.

@itzjustalan it's a bit late but have a look at [taskstodo](https://github.com/stephan-t/taskstodo) if you are still interested in syncing calcurse with Google Tasks. I'm the author and I'm looking for testers....

Version 1.9.1 has actually started to cause high CPU usage for me when receiving notifications at idle (`idle_threshold = 30`). Never had a problem with 1.9.0 or older versions. Notifications...
