Not sure if this is appropriate for this package but someone suggested this grid at geofacet https://github.com/hafen/geofacet/issues/220 and it seems like it could be a better fit here.

Made some minor edits to your code, mostly to fix new ggplot2 and add in some libraries. Was thwarted by the twitter chapter because invariably there were some Inf values...

Readability and other minor edits

Noticed a few errors so created a fork and fixed a few things. Tried to make commits as granular as possible

In code snippet #20 in chapter06.R, glmnet() wants a matrix with 2 or more columns but throws an error since the matrix itself is only one column. Thought about wrangling...
